PROJECT TITLE: Polio Immunisation in Nalumunye Village

AREA OF FOCUS: Disease Prevention and Treatment

PROJECT IMPLEMENTERS: Rotary Club of Nalumunye

PROJECT BRIEF:

To bring immunisation services closer to the people, as many of them had challenges accessing vaccines in time. They had to move longer distances to look for immunisation services.

We also wanted to sensitise the community about Polio and the need to continue immunising our children on time.

Project Outcome:

  • More than 100 children were immunised against polio and other immunisable diseases, including the tetanus vaccine for pregnant women.
  • The Club sensitised the community about polio and other immunisable diseases.
  • Services were brought closer to the community, and the majority expressed their appreciation for this act of kindness and community service
