President's Message

BUILDING ON EXCELLENCE TO CREATE LASTING IMPACT

Dear Fellow Club Members, Friends of Rotary, Partners, and Our Wider Community,

It is with immense gratitude, deep humility, and great optimism that I have the honour to serve as President of the Rotary Club of Nalumunye for the Impact Year 2026–2027.

As we begin this Rotary year, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our Immediate Past President, Rtn. Deborah Komugisha Kakande, whose visionary leadership guided us through an outstanding Action Year marked by meaningful service, vibrant fellowship, sustained growth, and the honour of being recognised as Club of the Year. This achievement belongs to every club member that showed up, Board member, committee, partner, and friend whose dedication and commitment laid the strong foundation upon which we now build.

I am equally grateful to the generations of leaders who have shaped our club, our past presidents, our outgoing Assistant Governor Rtn. Bob Nsereko, outgoing District Governor Rtn. Christine Kyeyune Kawooya, and our District leadership for their guidance and unwavering support.

I also warmly welcome our incoming Assistant Governor, Rtn. Margaret Nakatudde Sebalu (Nalongo), and look forward to working together to expand Rotary’s impact in our communities. Guided by District Governor Rtn. Daniel Mukasa Ddamulira and inspired by Rotary International President Olayinka Babalola’s call to Create Lasting Impact, we begin this year with renewed purpose.

Our mission is clear: to build on the excellence we have achieved while creating an even greater and more sustainable impact in our communities. True impact is measured not simply by the projects we complete, but by the lives we transform, the hope we restore, the leaders we develop, and the relationships we strengthen. Excellence is not a destination—it is a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and service.

I invite every Club Member to renew their commitment to Rotary by embracing five simple but powerful actions:

  • Invite one new member.
  • Support The Rotary Foundation.
  • Participate actively in service projects.
  • Welcome every guest with warmth and fellowship.
  • Enjoy Rotary by building friendships, developing leadership, and serving with purpose.

If each of us commits to doing just one thing more than we did yesterday, there is no limit to what our club can accomplish.

To our incoming Board and committee leaders, thank you for accepting the privilege of leadership. I invite you to join me to serve with integrity, humility, innovation, and teamwork, ensuring that every decision and every project reflects the ideals of Rotary.

Above all, I call upon every member to be a guardian of our club’s legacy. Let us protect the culture of excellence we have built, strengthen the friendships that unite us, preserve our gains, and continue raising the standard of what it means to be a member of RC Nalumunye. The Action Year showed what we can achieve together; the Impact Year will demonstrate how far we can go when every member is fully engaged.

Together, let us continue serving with passion, leading with purpose, and creating lasting impact in Nalumunye, Kampala, Uganda, and beyond.
